Helsett Farm Organic Cornish Ice Cream is an award winning family run business from North Cornwall. Recently featured on BBC 2's 'Full on Food' and in the BBC 'Olive' Magazine, all our products are made using milk from our Organic herd of pedigree Ayrshire cows. Having initially only produced Ice Cream, the range has now been extended to other dairy produce including; Live Yogurt, Fruit Yogurts, Yogurt Smoothies, Clotted Cream and Soured Cream. Available soon will be Pasteurised Organic Whole and Skimmed Milk (in 13.6 litre/24 pint catering packs), Mascarpone and Fromage Blanc.
The Organic herd of pedigree Ayrshire cows graze the clover fields above Boscastle to produce the organic milk used in all Helsett Farm's product range. The sweetness of the milk removes the requirement for too much added sugar therefore allowing the flavour of added ingredients to dominate. Flavours for the Ice cream are (as far as possible) sourced locally and using fruits which are in season. Fruit preparations and purees are prepared in the dairy from scratch as are ingredients such as Hazelnut Praline, Pecan Brittle and the Butterscotch.
The recent launch of a new product range (Yoghurts and Smoothies, Clotted Cream and milk), has been a great success, with a Blackcurrant Smoothie awarded runner up at this years Waitrose Small Producer Awards. Development of Mascarpone and Fromage Blanc continues and should be available soon. Catering packs (13.6 litres/24 pints) of Organic Whole or Skimmed Milk will also soon be available.
The family business extends to our own delivery vehicle which runs weekly to London and the South of England. The drivers are fully aware of the products and therefore able to answer any queries.
